Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Diwali.info website. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Last updated 30 April 2026.
1. About the site
Diwali.info is a free, advertising-supported information site about Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Content is provided for general interest and educational purposes. We don't make commercial offers, take payments, or operate user accounts.
2. Acceptable use
You may read, share and link to pages on Diwali.info for personal and non-commercial purposes. When using the site, you agree not to:
- Use the site or its content in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, the servers running it, or related infrastructure.
- Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site or breach any security or authentication measures.
- Interfere with, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the site or its associated services.
- Scrape or systematically reproduce substantial portions of the site, except as permitted under applicable copyright exceptions.
- Use automated tools to submit content, place excessive requests, or generate misleading traffic.
- Use the site to transmit malware or other harmful code.
3. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, all content on the site — including text, graphics, logos, images and the arrangement of those elements — is owned by Diwali.info or used under licence and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original page on diwali.info. Republishing entire pages, or large portions of them, without prior written permission is not allowed. The "Diwali.info" name and logo are trademarks of the site.
Greeting card images marked for download are provided for personal sharing — for example, sending to friends and family on messaging services or social media. They are not licensed for commercial resale.
3a. User-submitted content
Diwali.info does not currently host comments, forums or user accounts, so the typical user-generated content questions don't apply on this site. If you write to us at [email protected] with a correction, suggestion or piece of information you'd like us to consider, you confirm that:
- You have the right to share what you've sent.
- We may quote your suggestion when explaining a change to the site, paraphrased and without your name unless you've explicitly asked to be credited.
- We are not obliged to act on, publish or respond to every message.
4. Third-party links and content
The site may link to third-party websites for reference. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, policies or practices. The presence of a link doesn't imply endorsement.
Advertising on Diwali.info is served by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. The content of those ads is selected by the advertising network, not by Diwali.info. See our privacy policy and cookie policy for how advertising works on the site.
4a. Advertising disclosure
Diwali.info is supported in part by advertising. We participate in Google AdSense and may participate in other advertising networks in the future. We do not endorse the products or services advertised on the site, do not select individual advertisers, and have no commercial relationship with the businesses whose ads appear — that relationship is between the advertiser and the advertising network. Clicking on an ad takes you to a third-party site governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy. The site does not place affiliate links in editorial content.
5. Disclaimer — no warranties
Diwali.info publishes general information for educational purposes. We work to keep dates, descriptions and other facts accurate, but the site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that:
- The site will be available at all times or be error-free.
- Content on the site is complete, current or free of inaccuracies.
- Information on the site is suitable for your particular circumstances.
Where regional traditions vary, the site presents widely recognised practice and notes major variations where relevant. It does not replace the guidance of a knowledgeable family member, priest or community elder for ritual matters.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diwali.info, its operators and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Diwali.info from any claims, damages, liabilities and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
8. Changes to the site
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice. Pages may be updated, merged or removed as content is improved.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version will always be at this URL, with the "last updated" date reflecting any change. Continued use of the site after a revision means you accept the updated terms.
