What to include
To help us help you, please include:
- The page you're writing about (a URL is ideal).
- A short description of the issue or suggestion.
- If you're reporting a correction: the specific text and what should replace it, plus a source if you have one.
What we can — and can't — help with
Diwali.info is an editorial site. We're happy to:
- Take corrections to dates, names, traditions or descriptions.
- Consider suggestions for new pages or topics within the festival's scope.
- Answer general reader questions where we have a clear, well-supported answer.
We aren't able to provide personal religious or ritual advice, recommend specific products, or take part in commercial cross-linking arrangements.
Privacy of your message
Anything you send us by email is read only by the editors. We don't sign you up to a list, and your message isn't shared. For how the site itself handles data and cookies, see the privacy policy.
Frequently asked reader questions
Some questions come up often enough that the answer is already on the site:
- "When is Diwali this year and next year?" See the Diwali dates page, which lists the main day for the next several years and explains how the lunar calendar shifts the date.
- "How do I perform Lakshmi Puja at home?" The Lakshmi Puja guide walks through the ritual step by step, including what to gather and the order of offerings.
- "Which sweets are typical at Diwali?" Our sweets and festive foods page covers the classic mithai, savouries and regional patterns.
- "What's a good first rangoli to draw?" The simple rangoli section has twenty designs for beginners, and there is a step-by-step tutorial at the bottom of the page.
- "How do I celebrate Diwali more sustainably?" See our eco-friendly Diwali page for clay-diya, natural-rangoli and lower-impact firecracker options.
Press and media
Journalists, educators and writers occasionally use Diwali.info as a reference. You're welcome to quote short passages with attribution and a link back to the page on diwali.info. For longer use — reproducing whole sections, syndicating images, or using the site's content in a commercial publication — please write to [email protected] first; the relevant terms are summarised in our terms of use.
Reporting accessibility issues
We try to keep the site readable on every device, with sensible heading structure, descriptive alt text and good colour contrast. If something on the site isn't accessible to you — a missing alt attribute, an unreadable contrast pairing, a navigation that doesn't work with a keyboard or screen reader — please let us know which page and what you encountered. We treat these reports as priorities.
